Jeep Patriot rocks up with modest facelift for 2011

2011 Jeep Patriot red

Chrysler has just revealed the first images and details of its 2011 Jeep Patriot, and the compact softroader has received very subtle nip/tuck for the new model year that touch nearly every aspect of the vehicle.

The alterations include a new front fascia with fog lamps integrated with the headlamps, color-keyed grille, a new front fascia that's lower than before, new 17-inch alloys and a brace of new colors, among other differences.

Under the skin, the baby Jeep receives reworked steering and suspension tunings (though the company declines specifics) and 4x4 models benefit from additional inch of ride height to augment its off-road capabilities.

Like other recent Chrysler models, the Patriot's interior has been a sticking point since the model was introduced for the 2007 model year, and the Auburn Hills automaker has devoted quite a bit of attention to upgrading the cabin in this revised model. Changes include new soft-touch door panels with backlighting for the door and window switches, a new armrest, a new wheel with redundant audio controls (along with Bluetooth and cruise), higher-quality cloth on the seats, and so on.

This Man Survived A 39-Story Fall By Landing On A Dodge

Your friends at Prince Frederick Dodge have always thought that a Dodge could save your life...today we found the proof....

Thomas Magill apparently attempted to end his 22 years of life by jumping off a high-rise building on the West Side of New York yesterday, only to survive by landing on a 2008 Dodge Charger parked 39 floors below.

Thomas Magill is a 22-year-old New Yorker not unlike most twentysomething New Yorkers, according to his Facebook page. He studied English at Fordham University, and had a job as a "stylist" at Club Monaco until recently. His family's from Staten Island, but the New York Daily News says he once lived in the building he jumped off of yesterday.

Dodge & PETA equal an Invisible Monkey Ad

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade; When PETA complains about the chimp used in your commercial, digitally erase it — kind of. This might be the best Dodge commercial yet. Before and after commercials below.

Commercial before PETA's bellyaching

The above commercial was created to build buzz for Chrysler's big tent event and features a monkey dressed like a stuntman setting off some lame fireworks. It was a marginally cute advertisement, but someone at People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals saw it and complained. We'll let their spokesperson/primatologist explain:
Most top ad agencies in the country won't even consider producing an ad featuring a great ape these days given the well-documented abuse that young chimpanzees and orangutans suffer in the entertainment industry. This abuse starts when they are prematurely removed from their mothers and continues when they are trained to perform through savage beatings, denied even the most basic necessities, transported and housed in barren steel cages, and then discarded at seedy roadside zoos around the age of 8, even though they can live into their 60s. You won't find a great-ape trainer without a history of Animal Welfare Act violations and a reputation for dumping animals when they're no longer profitable. After watching a video narrated by Anjelica Huston about the use of great apes in entertainment, savvy ad agencies such as BBDO, Young & Rubicam, Grey Group, Draftfcb, and Saatchi & Saatchi made the compassionate decision not to exploit great apes in future ads. Dodge isn't going to dodge a bullet on this one. It needs to pull the ad - and we've contacted the company asking it to do just that.
Dodge, displaying a rare sense of humor and cleverness, created the new advertisement below with what looks like a digitally-erased monkey. It's even more humorous than the original.

2011 Jeep Wrangler changes it's top.

2011 Jeep Wrangler spy shots

Spy Shots! We love a little bit of covert ops. Our Friends from AutoBlog posted this little tidbit about the 2011 Jeep Wrangler. We at Prince Frederick Jeep think this is a long overdue change. Make sure to stop by your favorite Maryland Jeep dealer and check it out!

As the most iconic model from a certifiable American institution such as Jeep, it comes as little surprise that every new version of the venerable Wrangler (or CJ if you happen to remember Carter's presidency) causes pangs of distress from Jeep's loyal fanbase. Still, from the square headlights of the original Wrangler YJ to the coil springs of the Wrangler TJ and finally – and easily the most egregious of all in our eyes – the loss of the stalwart 4.0 HO inline-six in favor of the 3.8-liter V6 from a minivan in the latest JK, the Wrangler has continued to sell.

That doesn't seem likely to change for 2011, either. From what we can tell from these few spy shots that were snapped at the Jeep factory in Toledo, Ohio, the biggest external change to the next Wrangler is the inclusion of a color-matched hardtop. This is definitely not a bad thing. We can only hope that the next significant alteration to the tried-and-true off-roader-for-the-masses model includes a new drivetrain. Pentastar V6, please, along with automatic and manual transmissions with six forward ratios each.

500 Mopar 2010 Challengers to be built

Mopar '10 Challenger

The Mopar division of Chrysler has, in a way, been one of the automaker's silent heroes. This brand continues to build standard-spec and aftermarket parts for a range of Chrysler products, and while these optional goodies have always been offered in an a-la-carte fashion, Chrysler is now offering a true Mopar version of the 2010 Dodge Challenger.

Mopar starts with a Challenger R/T, fitted with the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 and adds a hood-venting system, cold-air intake, front strut brace, unique engine cover and a strut-tower brace. Chrysler hasn't released official numbers, but we'd say that these modifications are good for an additional 10 or 15 horsepower – nothing crazy.

Inside, there's a Katzkin leather seating package, special gear shifters for either transmission, a custom leather-wrapped steering wheel and – you guessed it – a serialized dash plaque. Only 500 of the Mopar '10 Challengers will be built, finished in a brilliant black clear coat with a choice of either red, blue or silver accents. (What, no white?) Other exterior changes include things like a black chrome grille surround, black wheels, functional hood vents and hood pins.

The Mopar '10 Challenger hits dealerships next month, priced from $38,000 with the automatic transmission (including the $750 destination charge). Want a do-it-yourself shifter? Add $1,000 to that price. (Wait, what?) For the full details, give us a call at Prince Frederick Dodge.

Fiat 500

Here is some interesting news we stumbled across this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed that Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge will be one of the dealerships chosen!

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., July 6 (UPI) -- U.S. automaker Chrysler said it had invited its dealerships to bid on rights to sell the Fiat 500 and that only 125 outlets would be approved.

Potentially, 2,300 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram truck dealers could bid on the option to sell the small Fiats, which are scheduled to go on sale in the United States in December, the Detroit Free Press reported Tuesday.

In addition to a general investment in the brand, Chrysler is requiring dealerships arrange for showroom space that is separate from their Chrysler brand vehicles, company spokesman Ralph Kisiel said.

The four-cylinder vehicle is scheduled for construction in Toluca, Mexico, using engines made in Dundee, Mich.

The company has said half of the 100,000 Fiat 500s would be sold in the states, while the other half would be targeted for South America.

Frogman Rocket II Trike

Frogman Rocket II
Check out what we found this morning. While we admit it is a wee bit of a stretch to make this Dodge related it does have a 1,000 hp Hemi! So if you see this next to you at a stop light don't bother asking if it has a Hemi and just keep your foot on the brake. Somethings you just cant win.

Early last year, Drew Phillips spotted the Frogman Rocket II doing its best to blend in among the other, less-outrageous creations at the Grand National Roadster Show. At the time, he wondered what it must be like to throw a leg over a trike powered by a supercharged Hemi V8 with over 1,000 horsepower. Now we know. The owner is a kindly soul by the name of Tim Cotterill who decided to have a short film made about the creation.

The action focuses mainly on long, dreamy shots of the Rocket II doing what it does best – generating speed and shoveling bucketfuls of fuel down the engine's throat via two Holley double pumpers. The sound of this thing is beyond intoxicating, and the craftsmanship only helps to return us to our wide-eyed elementary school selves. Crafted by none other than the Blastolene – the same crew that's responsible for Jay Leno's tank car – the Rocket II wears the kind of over-the-top style that makes us downright giddy.

While you woun't be able to get one of these for your very own here at Prince Frederick Dodge Chrysler Jeep you can come by and check out what we do have with Hemi's in them. Maybe you can make your own fun.

Chrysler's Sebring replacement

Chrysler Nassau Concept – Click above for high-res image gallery

We at your favorite Maryland Chrysler dealer, Prince Frederick Dodge Chrysler Jeep, spent our morning like we alwyas do. Drinking a cup of coffee, wiping the cream cheese from our bagels off our shirts and looking to see what Chrysler has in store. We came across this article from AutoBlog and thought we would share.

Flash back to the 2007 Detroit Auto Show and sitting on the Chrysler stand was the Nassau concept. Nothing ever came of the angular five-door, but some of the elements that debuted on the show car eventually worked their way onto the Sebring. That connection stands to be revived with a report by the Detroit Free Press that the Sebring's replacement will carry the Nassau name when the all-new midsize sedan goes on sale within the next two years.

The concept's sleek lines aren't likely to inspire the Nassau, but considering Chrysler purchased the name, it's fair game and will help to put Chrysler's lackluster sedan out of the public consciousness.

Chrysler hasn't official confirmed the name yet, but when the Nassau goes on sale – likely in 2012 – it will be joined by the refreshed Dodge Avenger, with a thoroughly revised interior and a choice of either a 2.4-liter four-cylinder or Chrysler's new Pentastar V6.

Fiat 500 electric car headed to U.S. market

Chrysler has announced that the electric version of the Fiat 500 will hit U.S. shores in 2012

The 500 EV will be developed at the company’s headquarters in Michigan, and it will use a lithium-ion battery. Pricing will be announced closer to launch, but Chrysler says it will competitive with similar electric vehicles. When it arrives, the 500 EV will compete for early adopters with the Mitsubishi iMiev and Nissan Leaf electric cars.

The first vehicle from Chrysler and Fiat’s union, the gasoline-fueled version of the Fiat 500 is scheduled to debut at the end of 2010. Your sales staff at Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge will keep you informed as we start getting closer to these hitting the lot.

In other Chrysler news, the company has been chosen by the U.S. Department of Energy to receive a grant up to $48 million as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Vehicle Electrification program. Chrysler plans to build 140 electric Dodge Ram pickups for a three year test in real-world conditions.

The Ram PHEV powertrain will include a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8, hybrid transmission, and a lithium-ion battery. The vehicle will be able to go up to 20 miles using only electric power. Overall fuel economy is expected to improve more than 65 percent.

Dodge is not new to exploring the potential for a hybrid truck. Dodge had previously built a 2000 Ram Contractor hybrid and later a 2002 Ram 2500 HD diesel-hybrid pickup truck as demonstration vehicles for potential military and commercial applications. A Ram hybrid went into limited production in 2004. And hybrid versions of the HEMI-powered Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen SUVs were briefly sold in 2009. Chrysler had recent plans to sell a hybrid Ram, due to difficulty making a business case for the truck, development work was halted.

Hey buddy, can you spare $100k?

2010 Dodge Viper ACR-X

We at Prince Frederick Dodge spent are usual morning scouring the web looking for interesting stuff to tell you about. Imagine our thrill when we stumbled across this little gem!

Have $110,000 burning a hole in your pocket and want to go racing? Consider the 2010 Dodge Viper ACR-X. Excluding the dedicated GTS/R racecar of the late '90s, the ACR-X is the most potent Viper built by Chrysler. The special edition model comes with 640 horsepower and can lap Laguna Seca three seconds faster than the shockingly quick Viper ACR that owns the track record for a production car.

If that sounds like your cup of tea, you won't have to wait long to get one. Chrysler has just announced that production of the ACR-X has already started at its Conner Avenue Assembly Plant and provided a few photos and video of the cars going down the assembly line.

Dodge Motorsports and Mopar have even provided a way to put the cars to good use. The Dodge Viper Cup will run at five racetracks starting this summer, and a contingency program will give owners a chance to earn back some of the purchase price of the car. In total more than $200,000 will be paid out, including $25,000 to the 2010 season champion. Follow the jump the press release from Chrysler and a short video of the ACR-X at the assembly plant.

Ram still considering small unibody pickup

We at your favorite Maryland Dodge Dealer keep hearing about this thru our various super secret spy channels (read internet) and agree that it would be a great seller. We would rather hear that production is starting up but if we can't have that yet then we will gladly take any talk that shows it is still on the boards! Come on RAM!

If you can't wait for this to make it to market then we can still take care of all your hauling needs with the great lineup of Ram trucks. Make sure to check us out on the web, also know has super secret spy headquarters.

Chrysler is dropping more hints about an upcoming unibody pickup that would be positioned below the Dodge Dakota. You may recall that first word of the new small truck came back in November when Fred Diaz, CEO of Chrysler's newly-created Ram brand, dropped tidbits about the company "considering" a Dakota replacement. We speculated that it could be built on a platform derived from the upcoming Jeep Grand Cherokee/Dodge Durango architecture.

Interviewed at the National Truck Equipment Association's Work Truck Show in St. Louis this month, Joe Veltri, Chrysler Group vice president of product planning, touched on the subject once again. "We're thinking of something that will separate itself from the full-sized truck more than what happens today, both in capability, price and size," said Veltri. While the automaker has reportedly shelved the idea of developing a mid-size truck on a unibody platform (the segment is currently owned by the Honda Ridgeline – its sales plummeted 51 percent between 2008 and 2009), the company feels there is a need for a smaller and more fuel efficient pickup without the unnecessary size or capabilities. According to Veltri, buyers still want pickup trucks but they want better fuel economy. "Everybody has gotten the formula wrong," he adds. Well, everyone except Ford and the ancient-though-still-small Ranger.

Future Chrysler production plans reportedly leaked

Chrysler, now led by Sergio Marchionne and the rest of the management crew brought in by Italian automaker Fiat, has big plans in place that will replace just about every single vehicle the American automaker currently offers. Judging from the purported list of new vehicle launches secured by the Mopar fanatics at Allpar, it would seem that new Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles will be hitting the market all through 2010 and well into 2011.

Looking over the list of 2010 production start dates, the first date to get excited about (barring the March 29th Viper production launch, of course – we're talking about for the mainstream market), is May 10th, which is when the thoroughly recreated Jeep Grand Cherokee will begin rolling down the assembly line. In mid-August, the 2011 Wrangler will make its initial appearance, and we're really hoping for a new powertrain combination for the venerable off-roader.

Towards the end of 2010, Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge should begin seeing the heavily revised Pentastar minivans along with the new Avenger and Sebring replacements, though the Chrysler midsizer seems likely to get a new moniker to erase memories of the current car. Finally, the three LX-based cars – those being the Challenger, Charger and 300 – will go into production in November, followed closely by the North American 2012 Fiat 500. Keep it together, Chrysler.

Since winter was a little rough and we are sure your car is way dirty we thought you might want to get it washed. Here is a fun way to get it acomplished, although you have to go to Argentina.

Dodge - 2010 and beyond

We like to try and give you a snapshot of what is new and changing within the Dodge model line up. This is what has been confirmed for 2010:

AVENGER: No changes.

CALIBER: Dodge's compact hatch gets an updated interior with a new instrument panel, door panels with softer armrests, and a center console that provides more storage space. The 1.8 liter engine has been dropped, leaving just the 2.0 and the 2.4; the 2.0 is now available with a 5-speed manual transmission. All models get active front head restraints, and the SXT model now offers a Sport Appearance Package with 18" wheels and performance-tuned suspension and steering.

CALIBER SRT4: Discontinued.

CHALLENGER: SE models now come with electronic stability control as standard, while R/Ts get automatic headlights, LED-lit cupholders, and door handle lights, as well as an optional Super Track Pack (20" wheels with Goodyear Eagle F1 Super Car tires, self-leveling shocks, larger rear anti-sway bar, 3.06 rear axle ratio, and a sport program for the electronic stability control system). The UConnect system now includes steering-wheel mounted controls. The Challenger SRT8 is available in a limited-edition Plum Crazy model, named for a purple paint color offered on Chrysler muscle cars of the early 70s. Along with purple paint, the Plum Crazy Challenger gets a purple seat-insert stripe and a serialized dash plaque.

CHARGER: Side curtain airbags are now standard. All Chargers get a body-color sill plate, and SEs models get a chrome grille with black inserts.

DAKOTA: The Dakota gets Arin springs and Tokico shock absorbers to improve ride and handling, as well as a few new paint colors.

GRAND CARAVAN: Dodge's venerable minivan gains a new optional Blind Spot Monitoring System, which sounds a chime and lights up an icon in the side mirror if the driver tries to change lanes when there's a car in the blind spot. Related is the Rear Cross Path system, similar to Ford's Cross Traffic Alert, which warns of approaching cars when the driver is backing out of a parking space. Other changes include active front head restraints for all models; standard three-zone climate control for the SE; and a slightly higher final-drive ratio for the 4.0 liter engine.

JOURNEY: All models get active front head restraints, improved antilock brakes, an "ECO" light on the dash which indicates fuel-efficient driving, and an available "dark slate" monochrome interior. SE models now include remote keyless entry, the screen for the optional DVD player is larger, and the optional 3.5 liter V6's EPA highway mileage is up by 1 MPG.

NITRO: The SLT model is replaced by the SXT. Entry-level (SE) models now include active head restraints, an "ECO" dash light to indicate efficient driving, six speakers, a standard air filtration system, heated mirrors, and stain-repellent seat fabric. The SXT adds body-color exterior trim, an auto-up passenger window, and an alarm; leather is optional. Other changes include new interior colors and a new paint color, Sandstone Metallic, which replaces metallic gray.

RAM 1500: Although the RAM 1500 was all-new for 2009, it sees several changes for the 2010 model year. The Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR - maximum permissible weight of the truck, fuel, occupants, cargo and trailer) for long-wheelbase 5.7 liter models is up 3/4ths of a ton to 15,500 lbs. V6 models get a fuel-saver "ECO" light, while a deceleration fuel shut-off system is said to improve real-world fuel economy (EPA estimates are unchanged). New features include an iPod connector, active head restraints, and an improved tire pressure monitoring system; options include a trailer brake controller, 22" wheels on R/T models, and auto-dimming mirrors.

RAM 2500/3500: The heavy-duty RAM gets a thorough going-over, including the addition -- finally! -- of a proper crew cab. The styling has been updated in the vein of the RAM 1500, but with a bigger, beefier look, while the interior gets better materials and more amenities. A re-tuned suspension provides a more comfortable ride. Engines are carryovers: The 5.7 liter HEMI V8 (all new last year) and the 6.7 liter Cummins turbodiesel. Fleet customers will be able to purchase a biodiesel-capable version of the Cummins engine that runs on B20 (20% bio diesel/80% petroleum diesel). Maximum GCWR is up to 25,400 lbs while maximum towing capacity is 18,500 lbs.

RAM 3500/4500/5500 CHASSIS CAB: No changes for 2010, but an extensive update is planned for 2011; see BEYOND 2010 section below.

SPRINTER: No changes. Mercedes-Benz, which designed and builds the Sprinter, reportedly plans to end its contract with Dodge and sell the van exclusively through Mercedes-Benz dealerships, with Mercedes rather than Dodge badging.

VIPER: Aside from four new paint colors, the Viper is unchanged. 2010 will be the last year for the Viper.

Video: SpeedFactory builds the quickest quarter-mile Dodge Charger in the world

Now, you may not be able to find this Charger as equipped at Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge, but we thought it impressive enough to share.

The Chrysler-mad tuners at SpeedFactory have taken a 2006 Dodge Charger, ripped out its interior and inserted a GEN III Hemi stroker motor boosted by a Vortech supercharger under the hood. The 3,700-pound, 900-horsepower sedan has kept its factory transmission and independent rear suspension, but swapped over to 1,000-horsepower half-shafts and a different suspension and shock setup.

The result: a quarter-mile run in 9.453 seconds at 145.38 miles per hour. The mad-about-Chrysler moderators at LXForums.com say it's the fastest run done on any LX/LC platform. Follow the jump for video evidence of the blitz and for SpeedFactory's press release on the feat.

Dodge celebrates 40 years of performance with Furious Fuchsia Challengers

For the record, the Dodge Challengers you see above are not pink. Despite a Pepto-ish hue, they're actually Furious Fuchsia. It would seem that Chrysler is choosing not to remember that it offered a similar shade back in 1970 and 1971 known as Panther Pink. This despite the fact that Dodge president and CEO Ralph Gilles tells us in the press release after the break that the R/T Classic and SRT8 Furious Fuchsia editions "[commemorate] four decades of Challenger performance" and "modernize one of the most memorable hues from 1970."

It seems to us that if it's acceptable to reintroduce Plum Crazy in its original purple flavor that it's equally okay to call these cars Panther Pink, but whatever. In any case, there's also an optional set of Pearl White performance seats with Furious Fuchsia stitching that we think would look just dandy with the Bright White A-line body-side R/T stripes and functional hood scoop on the R/T Classic (above left).

If the R/T's 376 horsepower just aren't enough for your tire-screeching needs, you can always upgrade to the SRT8 (above right) and its 6.2-liter Hemi V8, which offers up a willing 425-horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque... but act fast as there's only 400 slated for production. Base price for the 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic in Furious Fuchsia Pearl Coat comes in at $35,140 with the SRT8 model at $45,150 (both prices include $725 destination) and cars will hit dealerships in March. We'll do our best to bring you live shots of the pair from the Chicago Auto Show later this week.

Spy Shots...2011 Dodge Charger

2011 Dodge Charger – Click above for high-res image gallery

Looking around the web this morning we, at your Favorite Maryland Dodge Dealer Prince Frederick Dodge, came across some spyshots of the new 2011 Dodge Charger that we hope will be arriving soon. We liked them so much we thought we should share our excitment with you. So click above to check them out! Make sure to let us know what you think.

During Chrysler's epically long five-year business plan presentation, there were a few Powerpoint slides that caught our attention. Among them was this shot of a new sedan with a sloping C-pillar. It didn't take much deduction to conclude that the roofline in question would form the next Dodge Charger, and now we've got more photographic proof that development is underway.

Caught outside Chrysler's headquarters, this camo'd 2011 Dodge Charger is sporting the same canted and extended roof, along with a set of squared-off headlamps, larger grille and a more sculpted fascia. However, the extent of the exterior modifications pales in comparison to what's going on inside, with a new LCD screen dominating the dash and a smoother center stack. The new Charger won't be covered in camouflage much longer, so expect to see Dodge's refreshed sedan bow later this year with an all-new V6.

Chrysler to introduce Fiat engines and drivetrains in 2010

We thought this was great news for Dodge... Come in and check out what other things we have going on here at Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge, including 2010 Ram trucks!

Chrysler Group LLC announced yesterday that it is revamping its powertrain lineup with some technology assistance from Fiat that will increase the overall fuel-efficiency of its lineup by 25 percent during the 2010-2014 period.

Chrysler will expand its 4-cylinder engine choices with the introduction of Fiat Powertrain’s 1.4L, in-line 4-cylinder Fully Integrated Robotized Engine (FIRE) featuring Multiair. 4-Cylinder options will include a 100-hp 1.4L I-4 FIRE with Multiair, a 170-hp 1.4L I-4 FIRE Turbo with Multiair and a 190-hp 2.4L I-4 World Gas Engine with Multiair.
The Auburn Hills automaker will also upgrade its V6 engine offering with the new fuel-efficient, 3.6L V6 Pentastar engine. Producing 280-hp and a peak torque of 260 lb-ft, the first application of the V6 Pentastar will debut in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee , due out in the second-quarter of 2010.
Further making improvements to fuel-efficiency, Chrysler said that it will introduce Fiat’s six-speed Dual Dry Clutch Transmission (DDCT) to mid-size D-segment cars later this year. The application will provide a 10 percent increase in fuel-economy.

Watch a Dodge Challenger being made!

We thought this was pretty cool. Ever wonder how your new Dodge Challenger is made? Well wonder no more and think of it as the ultimate field trip for grown ups: Peter Carey and a video crew visited Chrysler’s Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario to get a true behind-the-scenes look at the assembly process for the Dodge Challenger. In this video, he learns that it takes about 24 hours to take a Challenger from framing to the end of the line, with more than 2,400 workers building Chrysler 300s, Dodge Chargers, and Challengers at the plant. Something is going on pretty much everywhere you look at Brampton — even above your head.

After your done droolling over this video, come on by your favorite Maryland Dodge Dealer and check out some in the flesh ones. Be careful though you might just end up taking one home.

Chrysler's Ram Truck Lineup roars into Business

Ram Trucks continue to break the rules with big-rig styling, improved quality, durability and capability,” said Fred Diaz, President and Chief Executive Officer—Ram Truck Brand, Chrysler Group LLC. “Starting with the most award-winning light-duty pickup – our Ram 1500, our all-new ultimate towing machine and Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year, the

2010 Ram 2500/3500 Heavy Duty, our best-in-class towing Dakota and the all-new 2011 Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 Chassis Cabs, our trucks are the best on the planet.”

Introduced in 2008, the Ram 1500 is a game changer in terms of its ability to “outsmart” and “out-tough” the competition with its bold exterior design, crafted and refined interior, engineering excellence, superb innovation and best-in-class features, amenities and ride quality.

The Ram Truck brand adds to its award-winning lineup with the recent introduction of its all-new 2010 Ram 2500 and 3500 Heavy Duty trucks. The new heavy-duty trucks provide customers with first-time innovations and features, along with new standards of strength, utility and driveability, building on the Ram’s leadership in the heavy-duty pickup segment.

What is that on the ceiling?

2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty Dancing on the Ceiling – Click above for high-res image gallery

Entering the Chrysler display promised to yield few surprises here at the Detroit Auto Show. The automaker doesn't even have a press conference scheduled – mostly because there isn't a lot happening new product-wise. But that doesn't mean The Pentastar doesn't have anything to be proud of, including the latest iteration of the Dodge Ram Heavy Duty, which was recently named the Motor Trend Truck of the Year.

Ostensibly to celebrate that award, but probably more likely to add a little excitement to its booth area here in Detroit, Chrysler has somehow managed to attach a brand-new 2010 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty to the ceiling of its display. So, if you plan on visiting Detroit this week to see all that the world's finest automakers have to offer, make your way to the Chrysler booth... and keep your eyes skyward.

Make sure to stop by your local Maryland Dodge Dealer to see for yourself why the Dodge Ram is Truck of the Year.

Dodge announces upgraded lineup for 2010 including Nitro Detonator

Here's some great stuff on new models that you should see at Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodgein the upcoming months. A few weeks ago, everyone was wondering when The Chrysler Group was going to have anything new to show at next week's Detroit Auto Show. You can look at the latest news about potential Ram models, Chrysler's special editions and Dodge's just-unveiled offerings either as wheezing gasps, or signs of pointing in the right direction. Since it's a new year, we're going to give Chrysler (and Fiat) the benefit of the doubt... for now.

Dodge says it "has taken 'base model' out of its vocabulary" by moving heaps of kit from the Options column to the Standard column on cars like the Journey, which for 2010 will automatically receive 17-inch aluminum wheels, cruise control, sunscreen glass, body-color mirrors, floor mats and passenger grab handles. It has also added "Heat," "Hero," "Crew," and "Uptown" packages to the Journey's options list for those who like trim names that sound like they came from an SNL skit.

To match its Chrysler 300 siblings, the Dodge Caliber gets a restyled interior "executed with premium materials and detailed craftsmanship" alongside its new instrument panel. Not left out of the marketing brainstorm, the Caliber wears a number of new trim monikers as well, including "Express," "Mainstreet," "Heat," "Uptown" and "Rush."

Four of Dodge's other models – the Nitro, Avenger, Challenger, and Viper SRT10 – get their loving spoonfuls as well. You can read all about them in the Pasternak-length press release at the link below, and check out the Nitro Detonator and Viper ACR in the high-res gallery of photos.

Are Special Editions Rams Coming Soon? We hope So!

Now this looks to be good news for the Ram enthusiast. Rest assured all of us at Prince Frederick Chrysler Jeep Dodge are anxiously awaiting information on this and will get it out to you as soon as it comes in. If you want to be notified personally, send us an email and let us know what you would be interested in getting for information.

The Chrysler Group has released information on a slew of new trim packages and models that will debut next week at the North American International Auto Show for existing vehicles in three of its four brands. They include the new Chrysler 300 S8, Jeep Wrangler Islander and Dodge Nitro Detonator. But what about the Ram brand? There's no mention of new models for its dedicated truck lineup but we think that could change soon.

Over the past several months, Chrysler has trademarked many of the names of the just announced vehicles, including two that weren't mentioned: Laramie Prospector and Laramie Western Sky. We're thinking that the Ram brand will announce these names for limited-edition versions of its full-size pickups next month at the Chicago Auto Show. Laramie is the top-end trim package for the Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 trucks.

Stay tuned.

Chrysler's New Ad Campaign

PRESS RELEASE

Chrysler Group LLC Introduces New "Coming Home" Corporate Campaign

* New advertising campaign features Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep® and Ram vehicles throughout the years
* Aimed to inform consumers, suppliers and partners that Chrysler Group LLC is now a different company with a new alliance partner and a healthy product plan

Auburn Hills, Mich., Jan 1, 2010 - Chrysler Group LLC introduced today a new corporate advertising campaign designed to reach out to consumers as well as the company's many suppliers and partners.

The new corporate campaign, "Coming Home," was created in response to requests from Chrysler Group dealers and research conducted which found that consumers do not realize that Chrysler Group has emerged from bankruptcy and is now a different company with a new alliance partner and a healthy product plan.

"This ad tells a story of Chrysler products bringing home loved ones throughout the years and our commitment to continuing to bring them home. It was important to tell this story during the holiday season because it is a time when families come together," said Olivier Francois, Head of Marketing, Chrysler Group LLC. "We want current and future customers, suppliers and partners to know that we are here and we are committed to earning their trust and restoring our reputation."

The ad features a driver bringing home a leather travel bag throughout the years in various Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep® vehicles. The travel bag symbolizes the continuation of life with all Chrysler Group brands and is the string that ties the entire story together. While various Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles are featured throughout, the ad begins with a 1930's Chrysler Airflow and ends with a 2010 Chrysler 300 sedan.

The 60-second ad was created and produced by the Chrysler brand's advertising agency of record, Fallon, and is scheduled to air beginning January 1 – 4, 2010 during the following bowl games as well as the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram brand web sites:

* Jan 1 – Rose Bowl, ABC
* Jan 1 – Outback Bowl, ESPN
* Jan 1 – Sugar Bowl, FOX
* Jan 2 – Liberty Bowl, ESPN
* Jan 2 – Liberty Bowl (Repeat), ESPN2
* Jan 4 – Fiesta Bowl, FOX
